Facing The Grey Tide Podcast - Episode 65: FAQ Preview and Thoughts on Tau and Necrons
What is up Everyone? This week Chandler, Evan, and Bryan are talking about their thoughts on the possible FAQ, their thoughts on the the new mini knights, and the release of Tau. The boys start to talk about what they think of the Tau codex in terms of GW's possible greater move, some of their thoughts on lists leading into Adepticon, and how the mini Knights fit into all of this idea. The boys also talk briefly about their thoughts on some of the other issues that might exist between the true state of the game and where GW sees the game. The second half of the game, they talk about the Tau codex and their initial thoughts. With a very limited time of looking at the Tau Codex, the boys give their initial thoughts on the codex, and they see a very high infantry count army in the future. They finish off with a little Necron talk since the release of some preliminary rules have hit the web.
The boys are back after a mini break, and the future looks to be on the ground.

NOVA Bound: The Final Push
Amazing how time flies; NOVA is less than a week away at this point (more exact time in the side-bar counter), and I still have a good bit to do (to the surprise of no one). I've got a couple projects I need to finish up before I head out the door to NOVA, and some more I will probably be working on in the hotel room.

Tournament Wrap Up - Mulligan's June RTT
Last weekend I made a bit of a trip to Mulligan's for their June RTT, which was an ITC event with 16 players showing up. I had decided to go pretty last minute, so I took a Necron list I was pretty comfortable with and took a Wraith-star list with the Start Collecting! Necrons formation, the Retribution Phalanx.

NOVA Bound 2016 - Early List Building
With NOVA passes going on sale last night, it's already that time of year to start thinking about what I will be taking and what events I will participate in. I haven't totally committed yet, but I'm fully expecting to play in the 40k GT again this year; who knows what the meta landscape will be like in 7 months' time, but at least for now I can start building my plan.

Rumors: Tau XV95 Ghostkeel Rules and Breakdown
So the rules for the upcoming Tau Ghostkeel Battlesuit have leaked, and it has a bit of a rules algebra that could be interesting, but is pretty cool overall.

NOVA in Review, Part 3: GT Bat Reps, Day 2
As I mentioned in my last bat rep post, I ended Friday 3-0, and began Saturday matched up against Frontline Gaming's Frankie. Game 4 was Points and Regions, which is a board quarter mission. Honestly, I felt pretty lucky to run into Gladius on this mission and not on the other three missions. The board quarters made Frankie's army-wide Objective Secured much less important than an objective based mission.

Hobby Challenge Check In: April - Riptide
Hey all, just wanted to provide a quick update on my own hobby progress. April was a pretty slow month on the painting front, but I managed to knock out the second Riptide for my Tau.

Lost Level (+UP) 40k Tournament - Roanoke - March 28
As the title indicates, I'm planning on going to a 40k Tournament this coming weekend in Roanoke, VA. The tournament is taking place at the Lost Level (+UP) Con at the Ramada Inn. Armies must be 1,000 points, Battle Forged, no Escalation or FW. The full rules are here and missions here.

February Hobby Challenge and Moving Forward
A new month has arrived and so, more check ins for the Challenge. As I mentioned a couple weeks ago, I had to shift my painting and hobbying focus to my Tyranids to get everything I needed done for the FTN Seasonal at the end of February. I never got back to my Tau, and despite having a Riptide about 50% painted, have made no progress there.
For now I will have to beg off of the challenge with some substitutes from my Tyranids.

FTGT January Hobby Challenge Check In
Hi All, it's the first week of the month, which means check in time for the FTGT Hobby Challenge. This month I finished a Riptide for my challenge, going a few dollars over budget with the rollover from my first month.

FTGT Hobby Challenge Check-in
With the start of the new year, it's also the end of the first month of the FTGT Hobby Challenge. As I said last month, my planned challenge for December was a box of Fire Warriors and a Devilfish, coming in just under the budget. I'll admit, with the holidays and being out of town, I ran a couple days over. But without further ado, my December contributions to my new Tau army:

Facing the Grey Tide Podcast - Episode 15: New Nids and the Hobby Challenge
What's up Everyone? Last week Bryan, Evan, and Ron got together to talk about the new Nids that are being released, the upcoming Facing the Grey Tide Budget Challenge, and Bryan getting ready for the Renegade Tournament. The Boys run down a lot, talk about some of the fun things the Nids are getting, and talk a little shop. What more could you want from a Thanksgiving Day Podcast?

Hobby Budget Challenge Plan - Tau
Once we settled on the time frame and expectations for our Hobby Budget Challenge, I debated several different armies to paint up for the challenge. My biggest debates were between completing an army wasting away in my closet or trying out something cool and new.

Hobby Resolutions for 2014 and 2015
With just over two months left in the year, I thought I would take a look back at my resolutions to begin the year as well as some likely resolutions for 2015, particularly those taking advantage of my excel model trackers. First, let's look at if I've accomplished my goals for this year.

NOVA Bound: VASSAL Bat Rep and List Building
As I prepare for NOVA and waffle on what Tyranids to bring, I realized I won't really have any likely opportunities to play test any list I come up with. If you recall my original list, I was going a little out of the ordinary with Troops and trying out a Tyrannofex for the first time, as well as a combat flyrant and possibly a Haruspex. Considering the lack of play test time I decided to be more conservative with my list builds, as well as download VASSAL again and playtesting lists virtually.

Dark Star Part II- Games 3-5
Hey everyone,
BeeCee here once again to finish my recaps from my games at DarkStar. Where we last left our fearless hero (that's me if you didn't read the last update), I was 1-1 coming off a Mike Tyson-esqe beating at the hands of quadruple riptide Tau.
Next up I was facing Wes Szmaglik's beautifully painted multi-wing Dark Angels (Wes would take 3rd best painted army). The mission was called "The slaughter will never end" and it had a crazy special rule that any non-vehicle/non-hq unit that was destroyed would re-enter play at the end of your movement phase of the following turn. You could score up to three extra victory points by destroying a unit twice.

1,850 Point Tyranids vs. Taudar: Gaming Weekend Bat Rep
This past weekend, Ron visited for a quick gaming weekend. First thing we did was set up the board for a NOVA-style test game, where Ron would run his Tyranids, while I ran my Tau with Eldar allies. The goal was to build a highly competitive, top tier style list to match up against the Tyranids.

List Building: NOVA Madness Pt. 3 - Farsight Enclaves
So, the last and least likely army I could bring to the NOVA Trios Team Tournament, is Tau. Part of the reason this is my least likely is because it will require the most purchases (and by most I mean any). I think if I went this route I would have to have fun with it and bring just about only big scary suits, so I'm leaning to Farsight Enclaves.

Local 1k Tournament Bat Reps with New Nids
On Sunday, Chandler and I hit up the local store for the monthly 1k RTT. This was my first "competitive" field test with the new nids, so I was looking forward to seeing how everything worked, specifically the new guys: the Crone and the Exocrine. My list was essentially my 1850 list cut in half, with a couple Biovores added in:
Hive Tyrant: Wings, 2 TL Devourers
Zoanthrope
Tervigon
30 Termagants
Crone
Exocrine
2 Biovores
