Greetings Reader,
Here we are, on the last day of February and #thecultrises has been going on for the better part of two months now. I haven't quite hit my total painted models goal but I have been extremely pleased at consistent progress on this army as well as a pretty good quality of painting for my current skill level.

The Cult Rises: Update 4: A Sire for Them all
Greetings Reader,
After a week off for some work travel and also getting the chance to check out the LVO for a couple days, I'm back for another update on the Cult of the Four Armed Emperor. This journey has been amazing so far, a heartfelt thank you to everyone who has clicked in and checked this out, posted comments on Fecebook, Reddit, or this blog.

The Cult Rises: Update 3: So Close, Yet So Far
Greetings Reader,
I am finishing up the first month of this yearlong journey and Ascension Day draws near. In just a little more than a week, the cults will be unleashed on the galaxy in the form of the Genestealer Cult codex and a bunch of new models.

The Cult Rises: Update 2: Iconward: Welcome to Fun with Flags
Greetings Reader,
BC here.
We are already into week two of #thecultrises. How are you liking it so far? I have to be honest, parts of it are frustrating to me- especially the grey skin of the Acolytes and Aberrants. The good news is because of the accountability of this journey, I'm steadily plugging away. Progress is contagious and I have found it easier to choose to paint over vegging in front of Netflix or playing a game of Battletech on PC. That in itself is tremendous hobby priority progress.

The Cult Rises: Update 1: Aberrants. Bro, do you even lift?
Greetings reader,
I bet you were skeptical you'd ever see another post from me where I stick with anything or even update this blog. Don't feel bad, I was pretty skeptical I'd get anything updated either. I suck at staying focused on just about anything. And yet, here we are!
I am a slow painter but I managed to finish four acolytes from the Overkill box that i had sitting around, did some detail work on my Abominant, and fully finished four aberrants and almost finished another 6. I'm calling that a win to get this machine started.

The Rise of the Cult: A 2019 event
Hello reader!
For years the cult has been in waiting, assembled and grey. Stored in boxes in the depths of the hobby room, languishing from abuse from index points costs, beta reserve rules, and a general lack of time on my part. Now is the time to strike! I am calling 2019 #thecultrises and I'm hoping you will come along with me on this journey.

Facing The Grey Tide Podcast - Episode 75: The 2018 Renegade Recap
What is up Everyone? In this episode, Chandler and Bryan sit down with Paul and David from the Renegade Open to do a recap of the 2018 Renegade Open. Bryan runs down his successes and failures at both the Beerhammer event and the GT. Paul and David go through the winners, the events outside of 40k, and talk about some of the success that they had from the event. The guys also break down some of the changes that will be happening in 2019 as the have a Spring tournament, the Spring Conflagration (which will be May 18-19, of 2019). They also talk about the fact that the Conflagration will be used as testing ground for the Renegade Open 2019 missions. Since this will be at the Midwest Comicon, there is more than just 40k at this cool event. Finally the guys throw in some wisdom about lessons learned on the table, things to consider when trying to improve, and how to really know if your deployment screwed you.
Paul and David always bring the noise, even without a megaphone.

What is up Everyone? This week Chandler and Bryan are joined by Dave and Puck from The Renegade Tournament to go through Renegade Open 2017 and to update us with a couple of new tournaments. These guys bring a lot of knowledge, a lot of great events, and some fantastic information for all of you that are looking to participate in their events. Also, There is a huge announcement about Warzone: Atlanta coming from Dave and Puck, but I won't spoil it here.
As a wise sage once said: "Renegades are people, with their own philosophy," and it clearly shows in how their events have grown over the years.

Facing The Grey Tide Podcast - Episode 60: Warzone: Atlanta and Renegade Open Recaps
What is up Everyone? Evan, Bryan, and Chandler work their way into a healthy discussion about the most recent tournaments they went to: The Renegade Open and Warzone: Atlanta. Bryan starts the night off by going through his list, talking about some of the fun moments and crucial decisions he made, and the overall feel of one of the top tournaments in the Midwest. Dave and Puck really know how to setup a fun and challenging event. Chandler and Evan then breakdown their round by round games as they discuss some of the challenges that happened with the missions, some of the fun aspects of the opponents and games they played, and then talk about some of the finer moments of the tournament. This is one of the Biggest Warhammer 40k Parties in the Nation and the men and women from the General Staff do a hell of a job putting it all together.
We've got a fever, and the only cure, is more Tournaments!

Bryan breaks down his games, Puck and David explain a lot about the tournament ad why they setup the way they did (Army Points, Games, Lists, etc.), and they talk about the Player Placed Terrain. The Guys from Renegade bring a lot of insight, a lot of cool thoughts, and are awesome as always when breaking down one of the coolest tournaments in the North Central US.

Facing The Grey Tide Podcast - Episode 46: The Lost Episode
What is up Everyone? Over a month ago, Chandler, Evan, and Bryan sat down to talk about Genestealer Cult, Tourney Prep, some games that we got in, and the amount of painting and hobbying we had accomplished. Unfortunately, That episode was lost in the warp, UNTIL NOW. The guys sit down almost a month out and after not having done a podcast in a long time, it turned into one of our old fashioned podcasts. Lots of rambling, lots of talking, and of course, lots of Nids.
Even the Lost Episodes are eventually found.

Escaping the hobby desert: Wait I have to roll for how many powers?
Hey Everyone, BeeCee here.
It's been a long time and man, I have missed you guys. Being an adult is sometimes really draining on the hobby time and to add insult to injury, it happened after I made all these bold claims about painting a unit a week. Lesson learned, the hobby is about doing things when you can. I will refrain from bold predictions and impossible timelines in the future...

Renegade Open or How I Came to Love the Knight
Hey everyone, BeeCee here.
On November 22 and 23 I played in the Renegade Open at the beautiful Fantasy Flight Gaming Center in Roseville,MN and I wanted to spend a little bit of time to recap the weekend.
Firstly, I had a great time. The folks at Renegade care about the hobby, they care about the players, and they want everyone to have a good time. You may remember we had Puck and David on our podcast to talk about the event and get us excited for it.

Facing the Grey Tide Podcast - Episode 14: The Renegade Tournament comes a Callin
What's up everyone? The boys are back for another podcast involving the operators of The Renegade Puck and David. They came on to talk about the tournament, a little of the history, and some of the ideas and rules that they had for the 40k side of the Open GT. Things get a little crazy, a little hairy, and some interesting stories fall into the podcast. It is a wild night on the Podcast thanks to the Renegades.

Renegade Open: The List
Hey everyone,
BeeCee here. I thought I would post up my Hierodule list for a quick update. Life has been exceptionally busy and my brain is too fried right now for a "proper" post so I figured I'd go with a good old army list!
The Renegade Open is 1850 points two sources and you can self ally. I have opted to self ally to get that third hive tyrant in to my list.

I'm a Hierodule! Rough WIP update.
Hey everyone, BeeCee here.
Renegade Open GT prep has begun and I am working on the Barbed Hierodule I am taking as the centerpiece to my army.
I wanted to share a few rough WIP pictures to show progress and get feedback. Firstly, this is the first gargantuan creature I have ever painted and I wanted to really try to take things to another level.
