The Cult Rises: Update 6: My first Genestealer Cult list and a build week

Greetings Reader,

Here we are, on the last day of February and #thecultrises has been going on for the better part of two months now. I haven't quite hit my total painted models goal but I have been extremely pleased at consistent progress on this army as well as a pretty good quality of painting for my current skill level.

Facing The Grey Tide Podcast - Episode 67: The FAQ is Here and we build Tyranids

What is up Everyone? May the Fourth be with you, and this week Evan and Bryan get together to talk about a little thing that dropped:  THE FAQ!  IT IS FINALLY HERE and after some shock, awe, and getting into the nitty gritty of the FAQ and what it means for our lists.  The guys talk about some of the big changes to how the lists are built.  The guys talk about the debates on what Nid lists have the punch to do the work to win.  The guys break down the big changes that the bugs have faced, how their lists are changing, and how what was old, just might be new and refreshed.  The guys talk also talk about some changes that may come out of the FAQ that may be an unintended consequence.  Back and better than ever, and with a FAQ to help us get in the flow.

Genestealer Cult: Early List Building - 1,850

With the release last weekend of Deathwatch: Overkill, and the leak of the 40k rules for the Genestealer Cult (and subsequent publication by GW online), I went ahead and did some early list building, adding in Tyranids to complete the army.

NOVA Bound: List Building and Event Changeups

After some finagling and politicking, I managed to snag myself a NOVA Invitational slot. As a result, I won't be able to play in Trios on the Thursday of NOVA. Fortunately, Rick stepped up and offered to take my place on the team with Todd and Ron. Looking at the countdown to the right, time is quickly running out and I need to lock down my lists and knock out some painting.

Army Construction Terms and Definitions

Misuse of Army construction terms has been a bit of a pet peeve of mine for a while, pretty much since the 7th Edition rulebook dropped. With the Decurion Detachment confusing the issue a little more, I finally decided to put this together. Some of it seems obvious, but terms like CAD and Dataslate get confused and misused all the time.

In this article, I'm going to start from the very top and work down in specificity, Take note of my use of capitalization in this article as it is very intentional. Capitalized words are used to call out words that have a specific definition when it comes to the game.

Army List Challenge, Help me build an army to paint!

Hey everyone, BeeCee here.

So in case you haven't heard, we are doing a hobby/budget challenge with the blog for the first part of the year. Most of the guys are starting a new army and buying a bunch of new models. Well I want to do things a little bit differently.

As you probably know, because I've said it about 900 times, I have a large collection of Tyranids. I want to paint 1500 points of those Tyranids for the army challenge.

Dr. Wolflove, or How I learned to Stop Complaining and Add More Wolves

What's up everyone?  So on the upcoming podcast, Evan has been pushing me to run more Wolves, specifically Thunderwolves.  I love the idea, but I have found myself wandering back and forth from wanting to add in more Thunderwolves while also filling my need to have an army that is to my style of strong variety.  Recently though, I have started to think about what Evan has said.....I need to add in more Thunderwolves; Wolves on Wolves with Wolves.

Well I have started to convert, I have given in to the pressure, and I have started to think of adding in more strength 10 (or 9 depending on your interpretations) Wolves.

And here is why..........
