A couple weekends ago I made it over to a semi-local RTT in Gate City, Virginia. In the spirit of the holiday season, leading up to the event I put out an offer to cover the registration fee of anyone who brought food items to donate. The turnout ended up a bit lower than expected, and while only one player brought food, two other guys showed up with donations even though they weren't playing. Having gotten a prior donation from another player I ended up collecting three large boxes of food items to donate to a local food pantry.

Warzone: Atlanta - Game Recap
Warzone: Atlanta is over, and now it's time to look back on the weekend; one of the best of the year. In this post I'm going to rehash my games briefly. We'll look at analyzing the outcomes compared to some predictions early next week.

Warzone: Atlanta - Final Lists - Blood Angels 2.0 and Field Analysis
A few weeks ago I shared my planned list for Warzone: Atlanta in a couple weeks. With lists due last week I am locked in with my list, as is the rest of the field.

Warzone: Atlanta List Building - Blood Angels 1.1
Warzone: Atlanta is rapidly approaching and I have been working on what to take. I am leaning toward my Blood Angels lead Imperial lists, adapting off the list I took to NOVA last month but between the recent Fall FAQ and painted model availability, I am feeling a little limited on the list itself.

NOVA 2018 Recap
NOVA was, as always, a blast. It was a couple weeks ago at this point, but I am already looking forward to next year and have it marked on my calendar. This year, as well as playing in the 40k GT for a sixth time, I also had the pleasure of playing in the Invitational for a third time. I am going to (somewhat) briefly run through my nine game over the course of the convention and give some highlights.

Warzone: Atomic Empire - List Building and Prep Game
With under a month to go until Warzone: Atomic Empire, James and I managed to get our first test game in last weekend. Both of us are flailing a little in terms of list builds post FAQ so we are both sort of defaulting back to things we have mostly painted that might work out ok.

Facing The Grey Tide Podcast - Episode 65: FAQ Preview and Thoughts on Tau and Necrons
What is up Everyone? This week Chandler, Evan, and Bryan are talking about their thoughts on the possible FAQ, their thoughts on the the new mini knights, and the release of Tau. The boys start to talk about what they think of the Tau codex in terms of GW's possible greater move, some of their thoughts on lists leading into Adepticon, and how the mini Knights fit into all of this idea. The boys also talk briefly about their thoughts on some of the other issues that might exist between the true state of the game and where GW sees the game. The second half of the game, they talk about the Tau codex and their initial thoughts. With a very limited time of looking at the Tau Codex, the boys give their initial thoughts on the codex, and they see a very high infantry count army in the future. They finish off with a little Necron talk since the release of some preliminary rules have hit the web.
The boys are back after a mini break, and the future looks to be on the ground.

NOVA Bound: List Building Again
As is my norm at this point, I'm still debating what list I'm going to take to NOVA this year. That said, I'm coming closer I think to settling on something, which is good seeing as we're just a little over a month out.

Tournament Wrap Up - Mulligan's June RTT
Last weekend I made a bit of a trip to Mulligan's for their June RTT, which was an ITC event with 16 players showing up. I had decided to go pretty last minute, so I took a Necron list I was pretty comfortable with and took a Wraith-star list with the Start Collecting! Necrons formation, the Retribution Phalanx.

Painting: Imperial Knight Showcase
Over the last couple weeks, since I picked up the Renegade box, I have been working on the first Knight. During assembly, I magnetized the four arm options (I forgot to attach a magnet for the carapace weapons - kicking myself for that). After looking into it, I decided to simply assemble the Rapid Fire Battle Cannon, as there were too many accessory pieces on the main gun frame for me to be happy with a swappable version. Instead I'll simply assemble the second with a Thermal Cannon.

NOVA Bound: Early List Building and Speculation
While NOVA is still a ways off, I have already begun the yearly debate on what I'm going to bring to NOVA. I'll also be competing in the Invitational again this year, so may opt for two different armies. I will have the Necrons to fall back on, and the list I brought to NRVCon is probably about the ideal list I would take.

FTGT 2014 In Review
As we begin 2015, I thought I would take a quick look back at 2014 for the blog, which was a very impressive and humbling one for the blog. The blog hit 40,000 views on Halloween in 2013 and began 2014 just under 67,000 views. In 2014 we had well over 200,000 views. I am constantly humbled and amazed that this project of mine has taken off as it has. Thank you to all the readers, whether you participate and comment regularly, stop in from time to time, or read just once. Thank you.

Renegade Open or How I Came to Love the Knight
Hey everyone, BeeCee here.
On November 22 and 23 I played in the Renegade Open at the beautiful Fantasy Flight Gaming Center in Roseville,MN and I wanted to spend a little bit of time to recap the weekend.
Firstly, I had a great time. The folks at Renegade care about the hobby, they care about the players, and they want everyone to have a good time. You may remember we had Puck and David on our podcast to talk about the event and get us excited for it.

1k Tournament Bat Reps: Transcendent C'Tan Shenanigans
My local store's 1k Tournament was last Sunday, and I decided to attend last second. The store is very hands off in terms of Army List rules. I clarified once I got there, but there are no restrictions, Unbound and Lords of War are completely allowed. With that in mind, I decided to be goofy and run my Transcendent C'Tan in a 1,000 point list. I did make it a bound list, though. I also brought a normal 1,000 point Necron army in case there were objections to me bringing such a ridiculous list.

NOVA Bound: Bags are Packed
This should be my final update before NOVA (considering I'll be on the road in less than 24 hours). At this point I'm more or less hanging up my paint brushes and going with what I have. I didn't get to my display boards. I did, however, get in a practice game over the weekend and painted up one of my Malifaux crew.

White Dwarf # 24 - Stormclaw
This week's White Dwarf features the new "starter" set for 40k, Stormclaw.
As has been leaked all over this week, the box features two new characters to lead the collected forces in the box, with Orks and Space Wolves facing off. While there are only two new models in the set, it still checks in as a great deal, with $175 of minis not counting the two new sculpts and the mini rulebook and campaign book.
