What is up Everyone? After a long sleep, we are back and talking 8th Edition.  Evan, Ron, Bryan, and Chandler group up to talk about everything and anything that we have seen posted about 8th Edition.  Evan talks about some of the things he has been working, the guys talk rumors up and down, and we talk about a few of the major things that we are excited for and hoping get released in the near future before the June 10th Release Date.  The Tide is up and ready to get our hobby on.

Rumors: Tau XV95 Ghostkeel Rules and Breakdown

So the rules for the upcoming Tau Ghostkeel Battlesuit have leaked, and it has a bit of a rules algebra that could be interesting, but is pretty cool overall.

Tyranid Rumors: Synapse Playtest Rule Update - *Update: Troll

Hey guys, fresh off the presses (or the Facebook) is a leak of an updated Synapse rule that's supposedly being playtested at the moment. Obviously, tons of salt, nothing confirmed, but we do have a nice, pretty, picture:

With the Space Marine book leaking more or less in its entirety this morning, I perused the book and decided to take a swing at putting together an army using the new Composite Detachment for the Space Marines, the Gladius Strike Force.

Skitarii Model and Rules Leaks

As the title implies, we've seen some early leaks of the new Skitarii/AdMech units and models that look to be in this week's upcoming White Dwarf. Check them out:

Necrons - Early List Building

With the cavalcade of leaks and early pics from the Codex, I've gone ahead and tried to adapt my painted Necrons to an 1850 list using the new point values and setup. Some of the big changes are Crypteks becoming HQ choices rather than slotless, a 33% price hike to Annihilation Barges, and a bump to minimum Warrior sizes. Early look says that Wraiths are the hotness from the book, but I don't have any painted (and only 2 old metal models), so they'll be left out for now.

Leaked Shield of Baal: Leviathan Tyranid Formations and Early List Builds

The Shield of Baal rules for Tyranids have been leaked (finally - been on the lookout since Monday) and there are a couple gems in there right off the bat. My two favorites are the Skytyrant Swarm and the Sporefield. The former allows a Flying Hive Tyrant to be joined to two units of gargoyles for 20-60 ablative wounds to get him across the board. The other provides recycling Spore Mines and Mucolid Clusters.

New Tyranids List Building

With the leaked rules for the Tyrannocyte and Sporocyst, and the huge waves they will make in Tyranid list building, I couldn't help myself and made a dozen or so lists that seemed intriguing. My first instinct was to add all of the deep striking. Unfortunately, while I think the Tyrannocyte is a good value, 75 points adds up very quickly and more than three starts to get unwieldy.

More Tyranid Multikit Pic Dump

More pics have been leaked, and the other options from the kit have been leaked, including some rules for the Mucolid and Sporocyst, which is the multi-kit with the previously posted tyrannocyte.

It looks like the Mucolid at least is on a 40mm base, lending some credence to the idea that three will be on the kit.

Tyranid Tyrannocyte - New Kit Game Changer

So this morning a picture of what looks like next week's White Dwarf was leaked showing the rules for a new Tyranid model - the Tyrannocyte, which looks to be a replacement for the defunct Mycetic Spore.

This is a huge game changer for Tyranid players as it totally changes the available tactics for the army.

Tyranid Rumors and Mawloc Project Updates

For today I only have a small painting update. After the update I figure I will also address some of the Tyranid rumors floating around and weigh in a little. 

 

NOVA Bound: Mawloc Updates and Tyranid Rumors

I'll start off by by announcing that I may have squealed like a little girl when I read Faeit's post this weekend with the rumor that Nids will get a new codex in November, not January. Ok, that might be an exaggeration, but I'm pretty sure I danced around a little. Then it set in that that would cut two months of saving/budgeting from my ability to purchase new releases. I am curious what new kits they'll get, but the only things I know for certain I'll be getting is the glorified dust jacket edition and possibly a second copy in either digital or regular edition, though the second version can wait. Not a huge need for budgeting just for those. 

Weekend Odds & Ends

 I thought I would put together a mini update of rumors, releases, and hobby progress. My weekend began with these bad boys arriving from Moridian7th. These two models were more or less why I started following his blog in the first place, so I couldn't resist. Also, it's nice to know that I'm helping out a fellow hobbyist with my impulsive purchases.
