FTGT Hobby Challenge Wrap Up

First off, thank you to everyone who participated in the challenge, and apologies for the delay. Life has been hectic and I let the wrap up of the first FTGT Hobby Budget Challenge fall by the wayside. While we had a few dropouts (myself included) we still had a few people complete 6 months of painting and post up some awesome progress on their armies.

Great job to Daniel for knocking out this 1,500 point army!

This update is going to be a little bit different than last week's update. My hobby challenge got thrown for a loop this week in a good way! I was working on my Tyrannofex but then I got a message from a friend looking for a game this weekend. I have been extremely devoted to my Nids for the past two years, almost playing them exclusively. It is time for a little change...

47 Weeks of Grey, a quick week 1 update.

BeeCee here once again with a quick update.

If you remember last week, I revealed my year long plan to paint all of my Tyranids. Well it's time to account for week 1. I tried to keep it pretty simple on myself to kick this thing off and worked on unit of 12 hormagaunts. I kind of got on a roll and painted up a bunch of them but I ran out of time to get all the highlighting done on them. I plan on going back to that in addition to the week two unit.

Update on the Hobby Challenge - Space Wolves Style

What is up everyone?  It has been an extremely long time since I did an update to the hobby challenge.  As you know I have been working on a Bran Redmaw army and unfortunately, I have been behind on updating the blog.  In the last couple of months since the hobby started and my last update, I have painted up a bunch of wolves but they are not part of the Redmaw army.  I have started and have pictures for the members that have painted up.

FTGT T-Shirt Design Contest

As I mentioned yesterday, we are holding a Design Contest for our next FTGT T-Shirts. We've had our last iteration of shirts for about a year now, and they could use an update. Not to mention, we would love to be able to offer shirts for purchase to anyone who likes us or just likes the shirt.

For the contest, we're opening the door to any and all designs. We have used CustomInk for our shirts in the past, so encourage you to design on their website and share the design with the blog email: ftgtgaming [at] gmail.com. That said, you are free to email designs in other forms or just generic descriptions, using "T-Shirt Design Contest" as the Subject line.

March FTGT Hobby Challenge Check In and NOVA Update

As we close out March, I wanted to provide my update and take a look at what's coming up for the Hobby Challenge. I ended up switching gears a little and going with the Necrons this month, in part to have a fully painted force for a local tournament last weekend.

February Hobby Challenge and Moving Forward

A new month has arrived and so, more check ins for the Challenge. As I mentioned a couple weeks ago, I had to shift my painting and hobbying focus to my Tyranids to get everything I needed done for the FTN Seasonal at the end of February. I never got back to my Tau, and despite having a Riptide about 50% painted, have made no progress there.

For now I will have to beg off of the challenge with some substitutes from my Tyranids.

Painted Tyrannocyte

Hey Guys. It's been a while since I did a generic painting post, so I thought I'd share some quick hits from the most recent model I painted, my Tyrannocyte.

As you probably know, this is just a massive model. I don't have a comparison shot for you, but hopefully by next week I'll have the whole army for the FTN Seasonal on a display board. Anyway, into the Tyrannocyte painting.

FTGT January Hobby Challenge Check In

Hi All, it's the first week of the month, which means check in time for the FTGT Hobby Challenge. This month I finished a Riptide for my challenge, going a few dollars over budget with the rollover from my first month.

Gaming Weekend and FTGT Kill Team Tournament

A couple weekends ago, we held a gaming weekend at my house. As part of the weekend's festivities, I held a small Kill Team Tournament, encouraging local participants in the FTGT Hobby Challenge to join in and bring their painted minis from December.

2014 In Review and 2015 Resolutions

Hi Everyone! I meant to do this about a week ago, but life has been a bit crazy between holidays and travel. Things are finally settling down enough for me to take a look back at last year in my hobby world and also look forward to plans and aspirations for the year to come.

I already reviewed my progress on my 2014 Resolutions, so I won't dwell on that too long, but instead look at what I painted and events I attended, before taking a look at plans for 2015.

FTGT Hobby Challenge Check-in

With the start of the new year, it's also the end of the first month of the FTGT Hobby Challenge. As I said last month, my planned challenge for December was a box of  Fire Warriors and a Devilfish, coming in just under the budget. I'll admit, with the holidays and being out of town, I ran a couple days over. But without further ado, my December contributions to my new Tau army:

 

FTGT Budget Challenge Update - The Wolves of the Redmaw

What is up everyone?  Over the break I finished off the painting of my models.  These models were the members of Pack Ironhealm.  I was also planning to paint up the Wolf Guard Battle Leader as well, but I screwed up, put together my Rune Priest (also screwing up the weapon that he was suppose to be outfitted with), and finished everything except for the Basing.
