FTGT Painting: 10 Pink Horrors - Commission

Hey guys. I recently did a sort of "soft-open" for my commission painting service and took on my first couple jobs from some local guys who were awesome enough to give me a shot and also patient enough to deal with me and my crazier than expected schedule. First up was a Daemon commission for Sha of 10 Pink Horrors and a Daemon Prince of Tzeentch.

FTGT Hobby Challenge Wrap Up

First off, thank you to everyone who participated in the challenge, and apologies for the delay. Life has been hectic and I let the wrap up of the first FTGT Hobby Budget Challenge fall by the wayside. While we had a few dropouts (myself included) we still had a few people complete 6 months of painting and post up some awesome progress on their armies.

Great job to Daniel for knocking out this 1,500 point army!

47 Weeks of Grey: Week 2, Can superglue remove fingerprints?

Hey everyone,

BeeCee here again with my weekly update.

This update is going to be a little bit different than last week's update. My hobby challenge got thrown for a loop this week in a good way! I was working on my Tyrannofex but then I got a message from a friend looking for a game this weekend. I have been extremely devoted to my Nids for the past two years, almost playing them exclusively. It is time for a little change...

List Building: Space Marine 1,850 Gladius Strike Force

With the Space Marine book leaking more or less in its entirety this morning, I perused the book and decided to take a swing at putting together an army using the new Composite Detachment for the Space Marines, the Gladius Strike Force.

Bat Rep: Tyranids vs. CSM/Daemons - Road to the NOVA Open Game 3*

I set up a weekly game night at my place for the Road to NOVA league games. For the first session last week, we were planning on playing our Week 2 match-ups and missions. However, Tom wasn't feeling well and Chandler was delayed, so Rick and I ended up playing our Week 3 matchup in advance. Week 3 is Mission 3, from the NOVA Mission Pack, which is a modified Relic Mission.

47 Weeks of Grey, a quick week 1 update.

Hey Everyone,

BeeCee here once again with a quick update.

If you remember last week, I revealed my year long plan to paint all of my Tyranids. Well it's time to account for week 1. I tried to keep it pretty simple on myself to kick this thing off and worked on unit of 12 hormagaunts. I kind of got on a roll and painted up a bunch of them but I ran out of time to get all the highlighting done on them. I plan on going back to that in addition to the week two unit.

On the GW D6 Scale - Fluff to Game Play

A topic that has interested me off and on for a while is the seeming discrepancy between rules and fluff. Your average space marine could shoot a coin flipped into the air 100 yards away while he was diving over a barrel or something similarly insane, and, in the game, is BS4. Meanwhile, a guardsman, who is, according to the fluff, battle hardened and well trained, is BS3. This seems like a small discrepancy. Similarly, regular guardsman is T3, while the superhuman space marine who can be stabbed in the heart and have a limb blown off and keep going is only 1 point higher and T4. What gives?

Competitive or Casual: Will it Blend?

What's up everyone? One of the topics that have come up in the chats, texts, messages, emails, conversations, and even on our podcast is the idea of Competitive vs. Casual play. One of the things I try to pride myself in is that I try to blend the ideas of Competitive play and Casual play in the same list. Understandably, these are two ideas that are very foreign in the same list, on the same table, and even in the same group.

Today, I am going to talk about how I try to do both. Remember, this is my way of doing things and honestly, everyone is different.
