Chandler will be doing the Space Wolf Codex justice this weekend and going through it, but I thought I would share what I thought at first glance to be an insane and fun broken combo that came to mind, using the current NOVA army creation rules. The list hits hard and has a bit of a deathstar with Thunderwolf Cavalry, but I'm sure there are other ways to go about it.

Know No Fear (Horus Heresy Book 19) Review
Next up in the Horus Heresy Review Series is Know No Fear, by Dan Abnett. As the subtitle suggests, this story centers around the battle of Calth, where the Ultramarines are attacked by the Word Bearers. As always, potential spoilers ahead.
If I were to summarize the story, it would boil down to "don't piss off Ultramarines." There are plenty of badass moments for the Ultramarines, including Guilliman hanging out in space without a helmet for a while.

Age of Darkness (Horus Heresy Book 16) Review
Continuing on with the Horus Heresy review series, the next up is the second short story collection. This collection contains nine short stories spanning a majority of the legions. With these short stories, some are cool from a story standpoint, but in the end are fairly inconsequential, while others might introduce something for following novels, or follow a new aspect of an old novel. As always, spoilers may follow.

SCARAB GT: Initial Reaction and Thoughts
I had the pleasure of attending the SCARAB GT this past weekend. It was about the same distance drive as NOVA for me, and I'm really glad I decided to make the trip. I brought my Tyranids, partly in the hope that I would be the only one to do so and get best in Codex (which went to Cory, who has an awesome Doom he sculpted from scratch).

Battle for the Abyss (Horus Heresy Book 8) Review
Back to the Horus Heresy Series, I recently finished up Battle for the Abyss. After Legion, I had a bit of a book hangover and took a couple breaks in the reading of this novel. Not because it was bad by any stretch, but it was certainly a good bit more direct and so, there was a bit less suspense I felt. As I mentioned in my Galaxy in Flames review, I've been a Ben Counter fan since Soul Drinker; I think he does an excellent job of developer characters through action and not having to divide the two. You get to learn about a character as the plot progresses swiftly, without stopping for a lot of background. At the same time, while the plot progresses quickly, the characters don't end up as boring, static action heroes.

List Building: 1,000 Point Ultramarine Army
In my continued series exploring making small forces that feature and theme the Chapter Tactics, I would be remiss if I didn't take a run at the poster child: Ultramarines.
