NOVA Bound: Transcendent C'Tan, Nids, and VASSAL

NOVA is swiftly approaching - I've put a countdown timer on the right of the blog. With a busy July, going has been slow for the most part, but I'm getting comfortable with my lists and the to-do list by the end of August. First on my list was my Transcendent C'Tan stand in from MasterCrafted Miniatures.

So while my Trios teammates Ron and Todd have had their rosters more or less set for a while now, I have long been in the air as far as what army I will take. With NOVA sneaking up fast, I think I need to go ahead and make a decision so we can start getting theming materials and the like prepped.

SpikeyCon 2014, part 2, Bat Reps and Mission Thoughts

To follow up on my first post about SpikeyCon, Chandler and I participated in the Iron Man tournament from 8:00pm until 5:00am. It was a blast, and I'm still recovering. I took the FTN suggested DE allies with my Tyranids.

Codex: Imperial Knights

With the initial White Dwarf behind us, and the Official Codex out, let all of the fun begin.  First off I would like to say that this is the Red Pill, this is the first step down the Rabbit Hole.  The Codex that is made of nothing but Super Heavies is out, so let the discussions begin.

Imperial Knights - First Thoughts

The new White Dwarf is hot off the presses with the much anticipated rules for the Imperial Knights.

To start, the kits look awesome, and seem to have a ton of bits to choose from; four head variants, a couple weapon options, and assorted paraphernalia. As had been rumored, the price point is $140, and they're up for preorder on GW's website. 

Escalation and Stronghold Assault and Formations, Oh My!

I've held off writing anything about these for a while in part because of the widespread, visceral reaction I was seeing, but also because I didn't have a chance to read the books themselves, let alone play using the rules. I still haven't played a game using any of these new rules (except Be'lakor), but I have been able to read through some, and also just had more time to process what they mean.
