Lictor Pose Conversion #1 - FTGTRon

Hey everyone!

Ron here with a lictor pose conversion.  I'm running lictorshame like all the other bandwagoneers these days, and I don't want to settle for 6 with the same identical "I'm hiding in plain sight" stance.   So this is the beginning of my journey to create 6 individualized lictors in all sorts of dynamic, stalkerish poses (lictors in the fluff are big time creepers hiding in the bushes and whatnot, not standing straight up in the open with jazz hands).  I hope these posts inspire some crazy lictor conversions of your own!

Road to the NOVA Open 40k League

Hey guys. Thought I would pass the word along about a cool league being started up by friend of the blog, elphilo, and run primarily at Huzzah Hobbies.

All the details can be found on Phil's blog, here.

If you're in the DC Area, definitely check out the league. Winner of the finals earns an entry to the NOVA Invitational GT. It also sounds like terrific prep for anyone interested in going to the NOVA Open GT. I know I wish I could participate, and would if I was in the area. Sounds like fun, so check it out.

Bat Rep: Lictorshame Trial Run

The other night I got a game in with a local friend, Aidan, and broke out the Lictorshame list for the first time (so there were some proxies). My list was nearly a copy/paste of Sean Nayden's LVO list, though I sacrificed 2 spore mines for toxin on the Tyrant guard. Zoanthropes stood in for Mucolids while Warriors stood in for 3 Lictors and Trygon and Dima took on the roles of Mawlocs. Aidan meanwhile brought a Daemon/CSM assault list featuring Abaddon, Cypher, a D-Thirster, and a Fire Raptor.

Facing the Grey Tide Podcast: Episode 21: Dark Star Missions and Eldar Rules

What's up everyone?  This week on the Podcast, Evan, Bryan, and Chandler run down the missions for the upcoming Dark Star GT held in Minneapolis, Mn the weekend of May 2-3, 2015.  The Missions are interesting with a bit of a flair that is different from the original book missions.  We talk about the missions and how Bryan's "List" will play into the different missions.  P.S.  Thanks Sean!  We talk about the last couple of weeks, shout out to some of the people from the blog, and then beat our heads trying to imagine a world where D weapons and Scatter lasers are basically given away.

Join us as we run down a Dream......and some missions.

What to do about Eldar?

What the heck is up with GW and Eldar? That is more or less the question I think a lot of us have been asking this last week. And despite an initial freak out, I'm honestly over it. Not because Eldar are not as strong as they appear, (they are) but because it's a condition of the game that now exists; if we want to play this game, we have to accept it. I'll try to explain what I mean by that.

Space Wolf List Building - Outflanking Mech

What's up everyone?  It has been a long time since I did a post on list building and that is because life found me, beat me, and proceeded to stomp on my throat.  Luckily, I have been able to list build during that time to keep my mind back on 40k.  Recently, Evan and I have been talking and I realized that I want to try to bring a list or a way of thinking that doesn't rely on formations. So I began looking at my wolves and what we can do with just our Codex.  That means no formations, no Supplements, just the book, a unique Detachment, and a lot of mobile units.  This is a Wolves Unleashed Detachment using a lot of outflanking rides.

Wolf Works Lighting - The Wolf Sled of Grimnar Conversion

It is with great pleasure that I am here to show you the newest model from Wolf Works Lighting. When the first pictures of the Space Wolves book came out, people were talking about the might Wolf Sled. Logan Grimnar's personal ride that makes him look a little like Santa, a little like a Norse God, and all Bad Ass. Except for the fact that it doesn't really fit into the realm of the Space Wolves. The internet then gave us this beauty below. It was from this image that the designers at Wolf Works took to trying to bring this model to life.

List Building: Local 1k

It's been a long time since I've been able to make the monthly 1k Tournament at my local store, but it's looking like I should be able to make it this month. For this time around, I'm planning on likely using an adaptation of the list I used a couple weeks ago at the Lost Level (+UP) Tournament.

Torrent of Fire Article: Adepticon Army Breakdown

My most recent Torrent of Fire article is up and this time I'm looking at Adepticon army breakdowns. In particular I was checking on how the number of detachments influenced standings.

Also took a look at army performance by primary faction and saw some surprises, namely with Orks doing way better than they have been. Could it be people are finally unlocking the codex, or is it a result of the format? We shall see. Anyway, check out the article.

FTGT Turns 2!

As the title indicates, today the blog officially turns two! As I said last year, I am amazed with how far the blog has come and I couldn't have done it alone. So thanks to Chandler, Ron, and Bryan for helping out with posts and the podcast. Also thanks to all the guests we've had on the podcast in the first 20 episodes, including Sean Nayden on our most recent podcast. Last but definitely not least, thank you to all the readers, contributors, and commenters. It's always great to hear back on what we're putting out and seeing what you guys are doing as well.
